The 2008 Bassmaster Classic will be held on Lake Hartwell in South Carolina.  This is just up the road from John and I believe part of BVHC will be headed down there to watch the event.   The 2008 Bassmaster Classic marks just the second time that fishing's most prestigious championship has been held in South Carolina.

Lake Hartwell was impounded in 1961, the 55,950-acre U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (COE) reservoir bears the name of a nearby Georgia town which was named for Revolutionary War heroine Nancy Hart. The lake provides hydroelectric power, flood control and recreation, including bass fishing.

I am hoping that we will take at least one boat and be able to get some video footage out on the water for everyone.

I have been calling Grean Top Sporting Goods almost on a daily basis waiting for the new Garmin GPSMAPs to get there.  Yesterday, Steve in electronics gave me a call to let me know they were in and he put one on hold for me.  I went right after work to pick it up.  I got a Garmin 440s GPSMAP.  After reading through some of the instructions I am going to try to install it Friday and then hit the water this weekend.  From the one they had setup at Green Top it looks like these are the best bang for the buck.

The bassmasters classic is going to be starting in three days.  This year my favorite unfortunately is going to be non other than Aaron Martens.  I have never met the guy but from TV, I have to say I don’t really care for him too much.  I guess he just seems to be someone that I would not hang out with and have a beer or two but the guy can fish and he is due for a Classic win.  I mean how many times can you come in second and not get a win.  You can check out some of the other fan favorites as well as follow everything at Bassmaster.com.
